The primary purpose, and the main focus, of StumbleOn.com is to build a community of personal connections online through your profile here at StumbleOn, as well as linking directly to all of your profiles on sites such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Digg and so on in order to help you better organize and share your world with whomever you choose, but in an entirely new, and much more simplified, way. Create your account quickly, easily, and for free, and start crafting your very own unique Super-Profile!!! One Profile – One Place.
What do I (you) do now?
1. Sign up with StumbleOn. Remember, it’s quick, easy, and it’s free! Just fill in the first five (5) required fields and you’re in! You can fill out the rest, and there are more options in your account to choose from if you please, as you see fit. It is all up to you, and is under your complete control. You’re kind of like your very own wizard in Oz here. There are total privacy controls for all settings in your profile. We don’t ever change them on you. Registration steps and tips are as follows;
- Your “StumbleOn Username”, the name that your account will be under and the one that will show as your profile link, etc., must be in all lowercase and be at least 4 characters long, or more. Do not register generic keywords, well known personalities, copyrighted names, business names, trade names, etc. unless authorized to do so.
- The email address that you register with is never shown, shared, sold, spammed, nor made public by StumbleOn.
- Please be sure to think of a really secure password for your account, which you will be required to enter twice during registration.
- Then fill in your name. A first name only will do just fine. You can always change this field later on, but your Username cannot be changed.
- Now click “Complete Sign Up” at the bottom of the registration page. Please be sure to activate your account via the activation email that was sent to you. This is a very important step in the process as it helps establish your account correctly.
- You’re in!
2. Fill out your profile, as much or as little of it as you please, and choose your privacy settings for each entry into your personal profile as you see fit! That’s all there is to it… Please don’t forget to read over our Terms of Service in the upper-right tab (TOS) as you agree to them all when you register your account with StumbleOn. Please do not register more than one account per person.
“Wait!?!”, “But where is all of the crazy advertising, third-party apps and other such garbage trying to access and clutter up my account?”, you ask. There are none, and we aim to keep it that way. The reality is that we’ll have to pay for all of this at some point somehow, especially as we grow, but we’ll figure that out at that point in the distant future so that it makes sense to us, as well as the StumbleOn community as a whole, which is you – our cherished members!
* Fact; Most people will spend less than an hour total with StumbleOn signing up for an account, filling out their super-profile information, navigating the site and so on and then they are off to bigger and better things (namely their lives), only coming back occasionally to check friend requests, private messages, perform basic updates and general maintenance and so forth and so on, but only as they see fit. Again, this isn’t another Facebook, Twitter or MySpace that you will constantly have to nurse, unless you want to that is! It is geared more towards the mindset of a set-it and forget-it utility.
